Q2 2006 Venture Capital Investing Reaches Highest Level Since 2002 at $6.3 Billion

Software VC Funding Accounts for Almost 30% of Q2 2006 Investments

PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association announced the results of this quarter's MoneyTree Report, citing the highest investment level since 2002.  First-time financings reached a five-year high.

Software investments accounted for almost 30% of the investments made in Q2 2006.  Software and Internet-Specific funding combined accounted for close to 35% of the $6.3 Billion invested in this quarter.
